Aerospace Finishing Operative – Masking
Denham | £35,500 | Permanent | Days
A globally recognised aerospace manufacturer in Denham is recruiting an Aerospace Finishing Operative to join its finishing department, with a specialism in precision masking of safety-critical components.
This is a role where attention to detail genuinely matters. You’ll be working on intricate aerospace parts that go through specialist coating processes — and the quality of the masking work directly affects the finished product. Full cross-training across other finishing processes is included, so there’s a clear path to broaden your skills and grow within a team that has the backing of over a decade of secured contracts.
The Role
• Masking complex aerospace components using tapes, plugs and bungs ahead of specialist coating
• Handling small, intricate parts with a high degree of precision and care
• Unmasking finished components and performing visual defect checks
• Working to engineering drawings and process specifications
• Supporting the wider finishing team as your cross-training develops
• Maintaining consistently high standards on safety-critical parts throughout
What We’re Looking For
• Background in manufacturing or engineering — any hands-on production environment will be considered
• Strong attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination and confidence working with small, intricate components
• Awareness of H&S procedures and quality standards
• Ability to read engineering drawings (full training provided)
• GCSE grades D–G or equivalent
• Surface preparation or finishing experience is a bonus — but not a requirement
What’s on Offer
• £35,500 per annum
• £3,000 signing bonus paid within the first year
• Days: Mon–Thu 08:00–17:00 / Fri 08:00–12:00
• Overtime available
• Strong benefits package
• Real progression across the finishing department as your skills grow
• Long-term stability underpinned by over ten years of secured contracts
This is a permanent position with a respected name in aerospace manufacturing. If you take pride in detailed, careful work and want somewhere consistency genuinely matters, it's worth a look.
