Social Worker - Duty & Assessment (AST) | Staffordshire (Multiple Locations)
Location: Staffordshire - Stafford, South Staffs, Cannock, Newcastle, Moorlands
Rate: £38-£40 per hour (flexibility for experienced candidates)
Contract: Locum / Ongoing
We are supporting Staffordshire County Council (SCC) with a recruitment campaign to cover current vacancies and posts impacted by sickness across several teams. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Social Workers to join well-supported services with competitive rates and flexibility for the right candidates.

💼 Role Overview
You will be working within Duty or Assessment (AST) teams, managing a varied caseload and undertaking key statutory responsibilities, including:
Completing assessments and risk management
Managing duty responsibilities, including referrals and safeguarding concerns
Undertaking care planning and reviews
Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners
Ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice standards
✅ Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
Registered with Social Work England
Proven experience in Children's or Adult Services within Duty/Assessment settings
Strong assessment, safeguarding and case management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced statutory environment
