Ongoing, Temp to Perm Contract - Sept start
Academics are recruiting on behalf of an Alternative Provision in Southampton. Due to their success and ongoing growth, they are looking to appoint an engaging and driven English Teacher with a passion for teaching young people in an alternative setting.
The suitable English Teacher will be able to plan and deliver exciting English lessons which meet their individual learning needs. Experience of teaching young people in an Alternative Provision or SEN School would be an advantage. You will ideally have experience of teaching students with social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) and other complex needs such as Autism, or just possess an interest in supporting children who have struggled within a mainstream learning environment.
The successful English Teacher will be working with 4-6 pupils at a time which allows you to tailor your lessons to meet their needs, and be able to build strong relationships. You must possess a calm, empathetic and trauma-informed approach to teaching and learning and have strong behaviour management skills.
