An established international logistics provider is seeking an experienced Road Freight Business Development Manager to drive growth across key European trade lanes. This is a high-impact commercial role focused on expanding road freight volumes and building long-term, profitable customer relationships.
Key Focus Trade Lanes
UK ↔ Benelux region (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg)
UK ↔ Germany
UK ↔ IrelandYou will play a central role in developing these core corridors, identifying new business opportunities and converting them into sustainable revenue streams.
The Role
This is a pure business development and revenue growth position, ideal for a commercially driven logistics professional who excels at winning new accounts. Responsibilities include:
Proactively generating new business across European road freight markets
Driving lead generation through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and market research
Building and managing a strong sales pipeline from prospect through to close
Developing tailored freight solutions across groupage, LTL, and FTL services
Working closely with operational and pricing teams to ensure service delivery and margin growth
Maintaining a strong commercial presence within your assigned trade lanes
What We're Looking For
Proven success in business development within road freight / freight forwarding / logistics
Strong track record in lead generation and converting new business opportunities
Solid understanding of European road freight networks, particularly UK-Benelux, UK-Germany, and UK-Ireland trade flows
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate and close profitable deals
Confident communicator with excellent relationship-building skills
Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working independently
