CAD Technician (Civil Engineering)

Our client is an award-winning multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with an established reputation for delivering innovative civil and structural engineering solutions across a diverse range of projects throughout the UK.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a CAD Technician to join their Civil Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious CAD professional with 1-2 years' experience who is looking to develop their technical expertise and gain exposure to a broad portfolio of infrastructure and development projects.

The Role

Working closely with experienced Engineers and Senior Technicians, you will assist in the production of high-quality technical drawings and 3D models for a variety of civil engineering schemes. Projects typically include highways, drainage, infrastructure, site development and external works from concept design through to construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Producing technical drawings and design models using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Assisting with the design and detailing of highways, drainage and infrastructure schemes
• Preparing site layouts, sections, levels and construction details
• Supporting engineers with project delivery and design coordination
• Ensuring drawing outputs comply with company and project standards
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary design teams
• Maintaining accurate project documentation and CAD records
• Contributing to the development of BIM and digital design workflows

Requirements

• 1-2 years' experience in a CAD Technician role within a civil engineering consultancy or similar environment
• Proficient in AutoCAD with working knowledge of Civil 3D
• Understanding of civil engineering design principles and infrastructure projects
• Experience producing technical drawings for highways, drainage or site development works
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, CAD or Construction-related discipline desirable
