Temporary Plumber – HMP Styal
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Plumber to provide temporary cover at HMP Styal.
This is an ongoing temporary assignment supporting the site while the client recruits for a permanent member of staff. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the facility and ensuring essential services remain operational during this period.
Working Hours
* 39 hours per week
* Rotating shift pattern between 07:45am – 4:45pm
* 1 in 2 weekends required (on a rota basis)
Pay Rate
Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience.
The Role
Working within a secure custodial environment, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive plumbing maintenance across the site, ensuring all systems remain safe, compliant and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
* Carrying out planned and reactive plumbing maintenance
* Repairing and maintaining mains water systems
* Fault finding, repairs and replacement of plumbing equipment and assets
* Identifying and reporting life-expired equipment
* Conducting inspections, water sampling and compliance checks
* Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures
* Supporting the wider facilities maintenance team as required
Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
* Proven experience in a plumbing maintenance role
* Experience operating light plant equipment
* Legionella awareness and compliance knowledge (desirable)
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Experience within a commercial, industrial, facilities management or public sector environment
