Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Project Lead to join their busy team on a contract basis
Duties include;

Lead and manage multiple payroll transformation projects, including digitisation, system improvements, and process optimisation
Oversee and develop the Analytics Team, ensuring effective delivery and performance
Plan, coordinate, and monitor project timelines, resources, risks, and deliverables using Agile methodology
Act as the main escalation point, resolving project issues and ensuring successful outcomes
Support system configuration, testing (UAT), and implementation of payroll solutions
Produce reporting, analysis, and documentation (process maps, workflows, specifications) to support decision-making
Drive continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with payroll legislation, GDPR, and audit requirements
Engage and communicate with key stakeholders across Payroll, HR, Finance, IT, and external partners
You will have;

Extensive payroll expertise with strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, RTI, statutory payments, and pensions
Proven project leadership experience delivering payroll transformation, system upgrades, and process improvements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
Experience managing and developing teams in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
Skilled in payroll system configuration, testing (UAT), and implementation
Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to influence across HR, Finance, IT, and senior leadership
Strong planning and organisational skills, able to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, governance, and risk management
Confident communicator, able to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
Proactive, innovative, and continuous improvement mindset
