Workshop Manager- Rugby

The Role

Responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective management of all workshop operations. Lead a team of approximately 35 employees, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and delivery performance are consistently achieved.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in improving operational efficiency, controlling costs, and developing your team.

Responsibilities

* Lead and develop a team, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

* Ensure all workshop activities comply with company policies and safety standards.

* Drive on-time delivery, cost control, and operational efficiency.

* Manage processes to achieve “right first time” delivery and high customer satisfaction.

* Identify and implement cost-saving and performance improvement initiatives.

* Set and monitor clear objectives and KPIs aligned to business goals.

* Optimise the use of labour, materials, and assets.

* Support the Operations Manager with wider operational responsibilities.

Requirements

Essential

* Experience managing and leading teams in a workshop or operational environment.

* Strong financial awareness, including budget and cost management.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to motivate, develop, and hold teams accountable.

* Results-driven with a strong focus on performance and continuous improvement.

* Confident leader with the ability to influence and engage others.

* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

* Highly organised with the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver.

* Commercially aware with a focus on business performance and profitability.

* A collaborative team player who can build strong working relationships.

Desirable

* Experience in a manufacturing or service workshop environment (rotating machinery preferred).

* IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
