SSSTS Site Supervisor (Roofing Works) – Job Specification
Role Overview
We are seeking a SSSTS-qualified Site Supervisor to oversee roofing works on live construction sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing operatives, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, and to a high standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise all roofing activities (flat, pitched, or specialist systems depending on project)
* Manage site operatives, subcontractors, and deliveries
* Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations, RAMS, and company procedures
* Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks
* Monitor quality of installation and ensure works meet specifications and drawings
* Coordinate programme of works to meet deadlines
* Liaise with Site Managers, clients, and other trades on-site
* Ensure correct use of PPE and safe working practices (working at height critical)
* Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports and H&S documentation
* Identify and resolve on-site issues efficiently
Essential Requirements
* SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) – valid
* Proven experience supervising roofing projects
* Strong knowledge of:
* Working at height regulations
* Roofing systems (e.g. felt, single ply, tiles, slates, liquid coatings)
* Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
* Good leadership and communication skills
* CSCS Card (Supervisor level)
* First Aid at Work (preferred)
