Multi-Trade Operative – HMP Manchester
Manchester | Full-Time | Agency Contract | Competitive Hourly Rate
Our client is seeking an experienced Multi-Trade Operative to join the maintenance team at HMP Manchester. The successful candidate will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the prison estate, helping to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out decorating, joinery, and general building repairs
* Complete planned and reactive maintenance works
* Undertake fabric repairs and refurbishment tasks
* Accurately assess and scope maintenance requirements
* Ensure work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
* Maintain tools, equipment, and materials
* Comply with all health and safety procedures
* Work collaboratively with prison staff and maintenance teams
* Participate in callout rotas where required
Requirements
* Previous experience in a multi-trade maintenance role
* Experience in joinery, decorating, and general repairs
* Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Relevant trade qualifications (desirable)

* Reliable and punctual
* Self-motivated and proactive
* Professional and customer-focused
* Enthusiastic with a strong work ethic
