Pay - £13.97 per hour
Temporary contract - Full-time hrs (Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 16:15, early finish Friday - 15:15)
About the Role
We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Workshop Labourer to join our client team at their busy logistics site in York. This is a hands-on role supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of workshop and yard, working primarily outdoors alongside an experienced team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:15
Friday: 07:30 - 15:15 (early finish)
Includes: 15-minute morning break and 30-minute lunch
Total: 39 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning trailer exteriors and sweeping trailer interiors
Steam cleaning trailers, including undersides, in preparation for MOT
Supporting general workshop and yard maintenance
Keeping work areas clean, organised, and safe
Assisting with equipment cleaning and waste disposal
Supporting pallet management within the logistics operation
Carrying out driving duties (collection and delivery of parts using a 3.5T sprinter van)
Assisting the workshop team and labourer with ad-hoc tasks as required
About You
Previous experience in a similar workshop, yard, or logistics role is desirable
Experience using steam cleaning equipment (ideally for trailer cleaning) is preferred
A valid, clean UK driving licence is essential
Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
Reliable, proactive, and a strong team player with a good work ethic
