Project Manager - HV Transmission & Substations
12 Month Contract
Outside IR35
UK Wide - Hybrid / Site Based
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manage delivery of high-voltage substation and transmission projects from start to finish.
* Coordinate engineering, construction, procurement, and commissioning teams.
* Act as main contact for clients and stakeholders.
* Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
* Track programme, costs, risks, and changes.
* Support planning, reporting, and project execution activities.
* Oversee subcontractors and suppliers.
* Support design reviews and construction planning.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
* Support project close-out and handover.
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:
* Degree in Engineering or similar field (or equivalent experience).
* 7+ years' experience in transmission, utilities, or power infrastructure.
* Experience delivering HV substation or EPC projects.
* Strong understanding of UK power networks and substations.
* Experience managing budgets, schedules, and project delivery.
* Knowledge of CDM regulations and site safety requirements.
* Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Able to manage multiple priorities at once.
* Competent with Microsoft Office tools.
* Willing to travel across the UK.
DESIRABLE:
* Experience with National Grid or UK DNO projects.
* Experience at 132kV-400kV level.
* NEC contract awareness.
* Professional membership (APM, IET, ICE) preferred
