Are you a patient, confident and caring SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a genuine difference in a childs school experience?

A highly regarded primary school in Barnet is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a bright and engaging Year 2 pupil with Autism (ASD) and ADHD from September 2026.

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support a Year 2 pupil with ASD and ADHD throughout the school day.
• Help the child remain focused and engaged during learning activities.
• Break down tasks into manageable steps and adapt support to suit their needs.
• Deliver social skills and interaction-based interventions.
• Support positive behaviour and reinforce classroom expectations.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure consistent support.
• Encourage confidence, independence and successful peer relationships.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:

• Have experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD or additional needs.
• Be calm, resilient and confident in managing behaviour positively.
• Understand the importance of structure, consistency and clear communication.
• Be proactive and able to build strong relationships with children.
• Have excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Be passionate about supporting children to succeed both academically and socially.
