An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shift Engineer to join a leading facilities management provider working across a prestigious commercial campus in Central London.
This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong building services background who enjoys working within a fast-paced environment, supporting the day-to-day operation of high-profile commercial buildings.
The Role
As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical and electrical building services systems, ensuring all plant and equipment remain fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across building services systems
Fault find and diagnose issues on mechanical and electrical plant
Complete PPM tasks in line with statutory and contractual requirements
Ensure all maintenance records are updated accurately through CAFM systems
Escort and supervise specialist subcontractors on site
Support plant shutdowns, inspections, and engineering projects
Assist with health & safety compliance and risk assessments
Maintain high standards of housekeeping within plant rooms and engineering areas
Support wider engineering teams across the campus when required
Participate in the on-call rota and respond to emergency call-outs when necessary
Requirements
Previous experience within Facilities Management or Building Services
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
Experience carrying out PPMs and reactive maintenance
Knowledge of health & safety procedures and permit systems
Good communication and organisational skills
Experience using CAFM or maintenance management systems
Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or equivalent)
