Contract/Project
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in the utilities and water sector to support the commercial management and successful delivery of major infrastructure projects.
The role will involve working across a portfolio of clean water and wastewater schemes, including:
* Rising mains
* New water main reinforcements and replacements
* Shaft construction works
* Storm storage schemes
* Minor Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of projects from inception through to final account.
* Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
* Administer subcontractor procurement, payments, variations, and final accounts.
* Manage change control, compensation events, and contractual notifications.
* Support project teams in identifying and mitigating commercial risks and opportunities.
* Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and operational teams to maximise project performance.
* Prepare and present accurate commercial reports to senior management.
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the utilities/water industry.
* Experience delivering major clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
* Demonstrable experience with rising mains, water main reinforcements and replacements, shaft works, storm storage schemes, and minor M&E installations.
* Strong knowledge of commercial management, cost control, forecasting, and contract administration.
* Experience working under NEC contracts.
* Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
* Degree, HNC, or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
* Membership of RICS, or working towards chartership.
* Experience working on major utility or infrastructure frameworks
