About this Position:
This role supports material analysis and testing activities within a high-performance engineering environment, contributing to product quality, failure investigations, and material validation. Working alongside experienced engineers, the position provides technical support to design and production teams while developing expertise across materials engineering disciplines.
Job Responsibilities:
* Support material investigations and failure analysis activities
* Carry out material testing and evaluation across a range of techniques
* Assist with sample preparation and microstructural analysis
* Provide material data and technical insights to engineering teams
* Liaise with suppliers to gather material information and ensure compliance
* Produce technical reports and recommendations for stakeholders
* Support process improvements and new methods within material analysis
* Collaborate with engineering teams and support wider team objectives
Experience Required:
* Degree qualified in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
* Industrial experience through internships, placements, or similar experience beneficial
* Understanding of material testing techniques and failure mechanisms
* Awareness of manufacturing processes and engineering best practices
* Knowledge of automotive materials and applications advantageous
* Experience with CAD or engineering software beneficial
* Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
* Collaborative, adaptable, and eager to develop technical expertise
