Site Fitter & Fitters Mate – Ipswich Project

A well-established specialist contractor within the structural steel and architectural metalwork sector is looking to recruit an experienced Site Fitter and Fitters Mate for an ongoing project in Ipswich.

The company delivers a range of structural and bespoke metalwork packages across commercial, residential and infrastructure projects, with work including staircases, balustrades, handrails, secondary steelwork and bespoke fabrications.

This is a great opportunity to join a busy and growing contractor with an immediate start available and 3–4 months of secured work.

Roles Available:

* Site Fitter

* Fitters Mate

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Installing structural steel and architectural metalwork on site

* Assisting with fitting staircases, balustrades, handrails and secondary steelwork

* Reading and working from drawings where required

* Using hand and power tools safely and effectively

* Working closely with site supervisors and installation teams

* Ensuring works are completed safely and to a high standard

* Maintaining a clean and organised working area

* Supporting loading, unloading and movement of materials on site

Requirements – Site Fitter:

* Previous experience within structural steel or architectural metalwork installation

* Ability to read and work from drawings

* CSCS Card essential

* IPAF, PASMA or SSSTS beneficial

* Experience using site tools and equipment

* Strong awareness of health & safety procedures

* Reliable with a good attitude towards work

Requirements – Fitters Mate:

* Previous construction or site experience preferred

* CSCS Card essential

* Willingness to learn and assist experienced fitters

* Good work ethic and reliability

* Ability to work well within a team
