Simply Education are currently looking to recruit for a Primary SEN Lead Teacher for out clients brand new school in the Somerset area.
The school is a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious school for children and young people aged 5-19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With a capacity of 96 students, their vision is to create a safe, enriching and aspirational environment where every learner can thrive.
About The Role:
As an Experienced Primary SEN Lead Teacher (KS1 and KS2), you will deliver high‑quality, specialist teaching and learning for pupils with Special Educational Needs, including Autism and associated needs. Working within a small specialist primary hub, you will support pupils across two classes, providing a structured, nurturing, and inclusive environment that promotes communication, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.
You will work collaboratively with a team of Teaching Assistants to support all aspects of learning, including academic progress, communication development, social skills, and emotional regulation. Teaching will be highly personalised, with learning programmes designed around individual EHCP outcomes and pupils' developmental needs.
Through close teamwork with support staff and multi‑disciplinary professionals, you will ensure consistent, high‑quality provision across the hub, contributing to a calm, predictable, and supportive learning environment where pupils are able to make meaningful progress and develop greater independence.
Requirements For The Role:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience in a special school setting.
Experience working with pupils with SEND, ideally Autism.
Experience of managing a small team of teaching assistants .
Strong knowledge of the Primary national curriculum,
Skilled in planning, assessment, and classroom management.
Ability to remain calm and positive in a challenging environmentPerks and Benefits:
