SEMH Teaching Assistant - Primary School Support Role**

Aspire People are currently recruiting for a resilient and compassionate **SEMH Teaching Assistant** to support pupils within a primary school setting.
This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, or transferable experience from roles such as youth work, sports coaching, residential care, mentoring, or behaviour support.
The school is looking for someone who can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils while supporting their emotional regulation, engagement, and learning.
**The Role:**
* Supporting pupils with SEMH needs within the classroom
* Helping pupils regulate emotions and manage behaviour positively
* Supporting learning activities on a 1:1 and small-group basis (as required)
* Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams
* Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence, and resilience
* Supporting pupils to re-engage with learning
**The Ideal Candidate Will:**
* Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
* Be calm, consistent, and resilient in challenging situations
* Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Be proactive and able to use initiative
* Have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
* Be able to work effectively as part of a team
