Technical Project Engineer

Salary: Up to £55,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Technical Project Engineer to manage the engineering design and delivery of medium-voltage electrical equipment projects. Working within a highly skilled technical team, you will oversee projects from initial design through to final delivery, ensuring high-quality solutions and excellent customer outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of multiple projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and contribute to the successful delivery of critical electrical infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the engineering design and execution of medium-voltage equipment projects
Produce engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and manufacturing documentation
Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and provide technical guidance to customers
Coordinate project activities, monitor progress, and ensure delivery to agreed timescales, budgets, and quality standards
Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation plans throughout the project lifecycle
Collaborate closely with engineering, production, deployment, and quality teams to ensure successful project execution
Act as a key technical point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders

About You

You will have a strong technical background combined with excellent project coordination and communication skills.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline
Experience working with medium-voltage equipment, switchgear, protection systems, or transformers
Strong understanding of protection schemes, control circuits, and engineering documentation
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent planning and organisational skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a range of audiences
Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or EPLAN
Experience supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and customer technical reviews
Knowledge of IEC and BS EN standards
Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 or PMP would be advantageous
