Workshop Recruitment is supporting a well-established manufacturing business in the search for a Production Assistant to join its production team in Aldershot.
This is a varied and hands-on role supporting day-to-day shopfloor operations, helping to ensure production targets, quality standards and delivery commitments are achieved. The successful Production Assistant will work closely with operational teams, removing administrative burdens and helping to coordinate resources, training, maintenance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
This opportunity would suit an organised and proactive individual with experience in manufacturing, production coordination or team leadership within an engineering or production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support daily production activities and monitor operational performance.
Coordinate attendance, overtime and workforce planning.
Assist with onboarding, probation reviews and people administration.
Maintain training records and coordinate development activities.
Support maintenance scheduling and breakdown escalation.
Track and follow up quality, improvement and corrective actions.
Ensure production resources and consumables are available.
Promote health, safety and workplace organisation standards.
Skills & Knowledge Required
Experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
Previous production coordination, supervisory or team leader experience.
Strong organisational and planning skills.
Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Experience using ERP or production management systems.
Understanding of machining or engineering environments desirable.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing or QSDC principles advantageous.
