Loughborough - Site Based
Are you an electrically biased engineer with experience across Building Management Systems, looking for a role where you can genuinely become a technical specialist rather than just another maintenance technician?
This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly technical controls environment within a globally recognised institution, where your development is actively invested in, your expertise is valued, and your progression is genuinely mapped out.
This is a fantastic chance to become part of a prestigious organisation renowned for engineering excellence, research, and innovation. Supporting a large and diverse estate, you will play a key role in maintaining and optimising critical building infrastructure that underpins world-class teaching and research.
You'll be joining a close-knit, highly skilled engineering team responsible for maintaining and optimising a large and complex estate - where no two days are the same, and your work directly impacts building performance, energy efficiency, and the day-to-day experience of thousands of students and staff.
If you're looking for a role where you can step away from repetitive reactive maintenance and move into more advanced BMS control, fault finding, and optimisation work, this is exactly that step up.
The Role
*Own planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fault finding across campus BMS systems
*Diagnose and repair faults across HVAC, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems
*Work hands-on with TREND and Niagara 4 systems to monitor and optimise performance
*Respond to live alarms and system data, prioritising critical issues in real time
*Support and supervise external contractors when required
*Maintain accurate system data, backups, and asset information
The Person
*Electrically biased engineer or technician with experience in Building Management Systems (BMS)
*Strong understanding of HVAC systems and building services controls
*Experience with TREND, Niagara 4 or similar BMS platforms
*Confident fault-finder using schematics, data and logical diagnosis
*Comfortable working in live, occupied environments
*Basic understanding of networking (Ethernet/IP advantageous)
*Strong communicator who can work with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
*A genuine interest in developing into more advanced controls / systems engineering
*Qualified in Electrical / Building Services (HNC / City & Guilds or equivalent desirable)
Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd acts an employment agency for permanent roles and an employment business for temporary roles.
The salary advertised is the bracket available for this position. The actual salary paid will be dependent on your level of experience, qualifications and skill set and will be decided by our client, the employer. Rise are not responsible or liable for any hiring decisions made by the end client.
We are an equal opportunities company and welcome applications from all suitable candidates
