We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join a leading manufacturing organisation based in Hitchin.
This Operations Manager role is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, delivery, and efficiency across the site. The successful Operations Manager will work closely with production, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to achieve business objectives and support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities for the appointed Operations Manager
Lead and develop manufacturing and production teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Oversee production planning and execution to ensure on-time delivery and operational efficiency.
Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste.
Ensure compliance with AS9100, health and safety requirements, and industry regulations.
Monitor operational KPIs and implement actions to improve performance.
Manage resources, inventory, and supply chain activities to support production requirements.
Support budgeting, cost control, and operational performance targetsThe selected Operations Manager will have the following requirements for the position.
Proven experience as an Operations Manager within aerospace, defence, precision engineering, or a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing production teams.
Good understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
