Senior Social Workers - Family Help Service £39.04ph
Location: Hackney
The social worker will be holding cases from when the family are allocated to when the case closes.
To Carry out children and family assessments:- Children in Need, Child Protection, Court work (that currently the Child Protection Service do).
Education, Training and Qualifications
-Degree Social Work / Post Qualified Experience
-Social Work England registered / HCPC Registered
-Evidence of continuing professional development
-A satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) disclosure at enhanced level.
PROVEN EXPERIENCE
-Knowledge and understanding of child development, parenting capacity, environmental factors, risk and protective factors.
-Ability to summarise, analyse and evaluate complex information.
- Knowledge of childcare legislation, statutory guidance, Child Protection Procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of a range of systemic interventions, methodologies and commitment to the systemic approach and Social Learning Theory interventions.
- Ability to formulate and implement effective social work interventions.
-Ability to write concise reports and have excellent verbal communication skills.
- Computer literacy and the skills necessary to work with information management systems and produce good quality data in a variety of formats.
- Ability to create a rapport and build relationships with children and parents / carers 4 Accountability
- Knowledge and understanding of statutory frameworks and guidance for children’s social work
-Knowledge of roles and responsibilities of key children’s agencies.
- An understanding of relationship management and the capacity to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships
-Knowledge and awareness of issues relating to communities from different racial and cultural backgrounds and Equal Opportunities.
NB: All employees are expected to adhere to the Council’s Diversity & Equality and Health and Safety Policies.
This role is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at enhanced level is required
