Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Tutors to support children and young people across the Rotherham area on a supply basis.
This rewarding role involves working with pupils who are unable to access mainstream education for a variety of reasons. As an SEN Tutor, you will provide personalised educational support outside of the traditional school setting, helping students to re-engage with learning and achieve their individual goals.
Learning sessions may take place in a variety of settings, including:
The pupil's home
Community venues such as libraries or learning centres
Alternative educational provisions
Other agreed safe locations suitable for learning
The Role
Deliver tailored tuition sessions to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with EHCPs.
Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and other professionals involved in the student's education.
Monitor progress and provide feedback where required.
Create a supportive, engaging, and safe learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), tutoring experience, or relevant educational experience.
A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach.
Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learners.
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
