Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Location: London
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
An established and growing ground and structural investigation contractor is looking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their London-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced geotechnical professional to play a key role in delivering a diverse range of site investigation projects across the UK.
Working within a specialist contractor environment, you will be responsible for managing projects from inception through to completion, supervising site operations, liaising with clients, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality ground investigation and geotechnical services.
The Role
Managing multiple ground and structural investigation projects simultaneously.
Supervising site investigations, drilling operations, trial pitting, monitoring installations and testing programmes.
Providing technical oversight and support to site engineers and subcontractors.
Managing project budgets, programmes and resource allocation.
Preparing and reviewing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports.
Liaising with clients, contractors and stakeholders throughout project delivery.
Ensuring all works are carried out safely and in accordance with industry standards and company procedures.
Supporting business development activities and maintaining strong client relationships.
Mentoring and developing junior engineers.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years' experience within the geotechnical or ground investigation sector.
Previous experience working for a geotechnical, ground investigation or structural investigation contractor.
Strong site supervision experience across a range of investigation techniques.
Proven project management experience, including programme and financial responsibility.
Experience preparing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports.
Strong understanding of ground investigation standards and health & safety requirements.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
Full UK driving licence.
