Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm (5 days per week)
Type: Full-time - Temporary assignment

Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a beer brewery, for a Laboratory Technician to join their team in Enfield. This role is ideal for someone with a science or technical background who enjoys working in a laboratory environment and following structured analytical procedures.

Please note, this role will involve working around alcohol as part of the brewing and testing process. You will support routine testing, laboratory operations, and data recording while maintaining high quality and safety standards. The role will also require manual handling, including lifting up to 25kg.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine analytical testing in accordance with approved methods and standard operating procedures.
Prepare samples, reagents, and standards for laboratory analysis following defined procedures.
Accurately record, check, and store test results and laboratory data using approved systems or templates.
Support quality testing related to brewing processes, including monitoring of raw materials and finished products.
Maintain shelf life and stability studies, including sample preparation, monitoring, and data logging.
Perform routine equipment checks, verification, and basic calibration activities as trained, ensuring records are maintained.
Identify and promptly escalate deviations, equipment issues, or abnormal results to senior laboratory staff.
Maintain strong laboratory housekeeping and 5S standards, ensuring a safe and organised workspace.
Support laboratory administrative tasks, including sample tracking, documentation control, and consumables management.Education & Experience

Essential

Level 3 qualification or higher in a science, food, engineering, laboratory, or technical discipline (or equivalent practical laboratory experience).
Experience working to standard operating procedures (SOPs) within a laboratory or quality-controlled environment.Desirable

HND or Foundation Degree (Level 4-5) in an applied or technical subject.
Experience working in food, beverage, FMCG, or regulated laboratory environments.
Familiarity with routine analytical testing and laboratory equipment calibration.What We're Looking For

Good organisational skills and ability to manage routine laboratory tasks
