Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking a Grounds Maintenance Caretaker to work with a Local Authority on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role based in Skelmersdale, initially for a six month period.
Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of caretaking and environmental maintenance duties to help maintain public spaces and facilities to a high standard. Working as part of an operational team, you will undertake practical maintenance tasks and support the delivery of a clean, safe and well-presented environment across the local area.
Main Duties:
* Carry out grounds maintenance and caretaking duties across public spaces and facilities
* Operate handheld plant and equipment including weed sprayers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, blowers and jet washes
* Complete basic DIY repairs and maintenance tasks as required
* Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards across designated sites
* Assist with environmental maintenance activities to ensure public areas remain safe and accessible
* Follow all health and safety policies, procedures and safe working practices
* Work effectively as part of a team to deliver operational services
Essential Criteria:
* Previous experience in grounds maintenance, caretaking or a similar environmental maintenance role
* Full UK Driver's License
* Experience using handheld grounds maintenance equipment and machinery
* Ability to carry out basic DIY and maintenance tasks
* Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a practical working environment
* Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
* Reliable, proactive and committed to maintaining high standards of work
