We are seeking an experienced and highly hands-on Production Team Leader to take ownership of day-to-day production performance and ensure the smooth, efficient running of our production plants.
This is a pivotal role on the shop floor, focused on driving productivity, maintaining high operational standards, and delivering consistent output across Safety, People, Quality, Volume, and Cost.
Reporting to the Factory Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring production runs seamlessly, removing barriers, and embedding a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
The Role
As a Production Team Leader, you will be at the heart of the operation, actively leading from the front to ensure production flows efficiently and targets are consistently achieved.
You will take ownership of performance on shift, ensuring that standards are upheld, issues are resolved quickly, and teams are working effectively to maximise productivity. By driving disciplined processes and high standards, you will ensure output meets both customer and business expectations.
This is a hands-on supervisory role, where visibility, pace, and accountability are key.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Delivery
Drive daily productivity, ensuring output, efficiency, and labour utilisation targets are met
Maintain a strong focus on operational discipline, standards, and consistency
Safety
Lead from the front to ensure safe working practices are embedded at all times
Maintain a zero-tolerance approach to unsafe behaviours and non-compliance
Conduct regular floor-based safety checks and ensure immediate action is taken
People
Provide clear, direct leadership to your team, ensuring expectations are understood and achieved
Drive performance, accountability, and high engagement on shift
Actively coach and develop team members to improve capability and output
Ensure the team is fully trained, flexible, and able to meet operational demands
Quality
Ensure right-first-time production, maintaining high product quality standards
Quickly identify and address quality issues to minimise disruption and waste
Reinforce adherence to standard operating procedures and best practice
Volume & Efficiency
Deliver against production plans by maximising OEE, throughput, and line performance
Ensure accurate, timely reporting of shift performance and issues
Cost
Control labour and resource usage to meet cost and efficiency targets
Identify and eliminate waste across the process
Deliver practical improvements that increase productivity and reduce cost-to-make

Essential
Proven experience leading from the front in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Strong track record of delivering production results and driving productivity
Confident, hands-on supervisor who thrives on the shop floor
Strong people management, coaching, and communication skills
Able to make decisions quickly, solve problems, and keep production moving
Desirable
Experience delivering measurable improvements in performance or efficiency
IOSH qualification or equivalent
Leadership qualification (Level 3+)
