We're supporting a leading public sector organisation on a high-impact AI engagement to transform how critical guidance and policy documents are created, reviewed, and maintained. Currently, only a small number of documents are reviewed annually. This role will explore how AI can significantly increase the speed, scale, and consistency of that process. This is a hands-on, outcome-driven assignment focused on rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept delivery, using tools such as M365 Copilot and Azure OpenAI to improve document workflows. This is not a pure development role. We're looking for someone who can apply and exploit AI tools to solve real business problems.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess current document and guidance processes
Identify opportunities to apply AI across document-heavy workflows
Build prototypes for:
Document review and summarisation
Identifying inconsistencies and outdated content
Drafting and redrafting content
Metadata extraction and classification
Develop repeatable approaches (e.g. prompt frameworks)
Provide a clear implementation roadmap, including governance and risks
Deliver final outputs, recommendations, and reusable templatesSkills/Experience:
Strong experience applying AI / LLMs in document-heavy or unstructured data environments
Hands-on expertise with M365 Copilot, Azure OpenAI, or similar tools
Ability to design and build light‑weight prototypes, including prompt engineering, workflow automation, and document‑processing pipelines
Experience working with sensitive information and responsible AI governance
Strong analytical skills, including ability to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and optimisation opportunities
Experience delivering short‑term, outcome‑based consultancy
Ability to translate technical concepts into accessible language
Strong facilitation and presentation skills for demos and workshops
Confident working independently and engaging with senior stakeholders
