Operations Manager (Terminal Logistics)

Our client, a global leader in logistics and terminal operations, is seeking a skilled Operations Manager to join their team in Southampton. This is a fantastic opportunity to drive operational excellence and innovation in a fast-paced maritime environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead terminal operations including cargo handling (heavy lift, breakbulk, automotive).
Manage H&H lift operations, terminal fleet, and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Organise staff and contractor resources to meet operational needs.
Monitor KPIs, manage budgets, and identify improvements for performance and cost-effectiveness.
Foster a safety-first culture in partnership with HSEQ teams.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to optimise yard and warehouse capacity.
Encourage employee development through training and coaching.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and handle employee relations as needed.Skills & Qualifications
Experience leading large teams in terminal or logistics settings.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Proven ability to analyse operational data, manage budgets, and drive improvements.
Knowledge of cargo handling, yard management, and equipment maintenance.
Stevedoring experience beneficial.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiar with terminal management systems.
Full, clean UK driving licence.
Relevant qualifications and understanding of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001) preferred.
