Principal Project Director - Civil Infrastructure
Location: Glasgow
Salary: £75,000 - £90,000

Are you a Principal Project Director ready to take full ownership of project delivery, team leadership and client relationships within a growing consultancy in Glasgow? This Principal Project Director opportunity offers real influence, strategic responsibility and the chance to shape a high-performing civil engineering team.

A well-established engineering consultancy with around 60 staff is continuing to grow its civil engineering capability across Scotland and the north of England. As a Principal Project Director, you will play a central role within a close-knit Glasgow civils team, leading the delivery of development infrastructure projects across industrial, commercial, residential and education sectors. The business operates with a strong office-based culture, encouraging collaboration, design quality and team engagement.

The Principal Project Director will take responsibility for leading projects end to end, managing client relationships and supporting the ongoing development of the team. This Principal Project Director role suits someone who combines strong technical leadership with commercial awareness and enjoys working within a visible, hands-on leadership position.

Key responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of development infrastructure projects from concept through to construction
* Oversee roads, drainage and earthworks design across multiple schemes
* Manage client relationships and act as a key point of contact
* Support business development, fee proposals and project resourcing
* Provide leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to engineers and technicians
* Ensure quality, compliance and programme delivery across projects

Candidate requirements
* Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or similar
* Significant UK consultancy experience in development infrastructure
* Strong background in roads, drainage and infrastructure design
* Proven leadership and client-facing experience
* Chartered status or equivalent level of experience
* Commercial awareness and experience supporting project growth
