What You'll Do
- Own and support production applications in a business critical environment, ensuring high availability and stability for regulatory and business processes.
- Investigate, diagnose and resolve production incidents (including priority and major), participate in the on call/support rota and communicate incident status and system health concisely to stakeholders.
- Carry out root cause analysis, implement permanent fixes, and maintain problem records and known error documentation to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee batch processing and system dependencies, assessing upstream and downstream business impact and ensuring daily and periodic cycles complete successfully.
- Design, build and maintain C#/.NET applications across the full software development life cycle, including analysis, testing, deployment and post release support.
- Deliver enhancements and fixes for APIs, services and user interfaces (Angular or similar), and participate in code reviews, unit testing and QA activities.
- Integrate systems via REST APIs and messaging platforms (for example Kafka or MQ), and assess change impact to confirm production readiness, including testing, documentation and rollback arrangements.
- Support release planning and deployments across multiple environments, working with DevOps, infrastructure, business users and operations to improve monitoring, automation and overall environment stability.
What You Bring
- 8-15+ years' experience in software development and/or application support.
- Proven hands on expertise in C#/.NET (Framework or .NET Core).
- Strong SQL Server skills, including writing queries, developing stored procedures and performance tuning.
- Demonstrable experience of supporting or developing business critical production systems.
- Solid understanding of incident, problem and change management processes.
- Practical experience of working with APIs and system integration.
- Experience with Angular or similar Front End frameworks (preferred).
- Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ or similar.
- Experience in Investment Banking or Financial Services preferred
