GSL Education is seeking a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Luton. This rewarding role involves providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with a trauma background and challenging behaviour, helping them access learning and achieve their full potential.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's individual needs.
• Build positive relationships and help promote emotional regulation.
• Support the implementation of behaviour strategies and learning plans.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
• Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
• Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role.
• Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, trauma, ASD, ADHD, or related needs.
• Experience within a PRU, SEN school, alternative provision, or mainstream setting supporting high-needs pupils is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, patience, and behaviour management skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children and helping them succeed.
