Ideal for a recent Graduate looking to develop a career in schools

A Teaching Assistant is needed in a Mixed Secondary School & Sixth Form in South West London.

This Teaching Assistant position will be full time and permanent.

Working hours for this Teaching Assistant post will be 8am to 4pm with a 1 hour unpaid break.

Responsibilities for this Teaching Assistant role will include but not be limited to:

Supporting SEN and LAP students in group or whole class intervention sessions
Working with the teachers to ensure each student's learning needs are identified
Attending to students' social, emotional and personal needs when required
Supporting behaviour management and using appropriate strategies in line with academy policy
Undertaking learning activities/teaching programmes when needed

The salary for this Teaching Assistant position will be between £20103 and £24974, depending on the qualifications and experiences of each applicant.

The School

An 'Outstanding' Secondary School & Sixth Form in the London Borough of Merton.

It is a mixed, 11 - 18, non-selective school with a wide demographic of pupils and staff.

90% of students stay in education or employment after Key Stage 4.

The site has its own dedicated SEN Support Centre and a variety of sports facilities.

Ofsted have noted there is positive culture of learning and a strong sense of community.

Requirements

Applications are welcome if you're a recent Graduate or experienced Teaching Assistant.

You're also welcome to apply if you're a British trained Teaching Assistant or overseas trained Teaching Assistant.

Clear and up to date Enhanced DBS
UK Bachelor's Degree or overseas equivalent
Experience of working with children/teenagers/young people or as a Teaching Assistant in UK schools
