Sourcing Engineer Maldon, Essex Salary Negotiable + Excellent Benefits

Are you an experienced Sourcing Engineer with a strong technical background and a passion for driving supplier performance and procurement excellence?

Our client, a market-leading manufacturer based in Maldon, is looking to recruit a Sourcing Engineer to play a key role in supporting new product development projects and managing sourcing activities throughout the product lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing international business where you will work closely with engineering, purchasing, and supplier teams to influence product innovation and cost optimisation.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing forward sourcing activities for new and existing products.
Supporting cost estimation and cost reduction initiatives.
Leading supplier enquiries, negotiations, and selection processes.
Ensuring early supplier involvement within development projects.
Maintaining ERP master data and supporting make-or-buy analyses.
Preparing sourcing and project documentation.
Assisting with production ramp-up activities and end-of-life planning.
Working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams.

Requirements

Degree qualified in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
Previous experience within sourcing, supply chain, project purchasing, procurement, or product development environments.
Strong technical understanding, ideally within mechanical manufacturing or processing.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Highly organised with a structured approach to problem-solving.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP.
Fluent English and willingness to travel when required.

Benefits

Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.
