SEND | EBSA | Alternative Provision | £25–£35 per hour PAYE + Paid Planning Time
Equivalent to approximately £30–£42 per hour
Location: Bromley and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible Part-Time & Full-Time Opportunities, Must be available Monday-Friday, a minimum of 2 hours per day
New Chapter Tuition is recruiting experienced Tutors and Qualified Teachers to provide personalised 1:1 Maths and English tuition for children and young people aged 11–25 across Bromley and surrounding areas.
This rewarding role involves supporting learners who are currently unable to access full-time education due to SEND, SEMH needs, school exclusion, emotionally based school avoidance/non-attendance, anxiety, medical needs, or other barriers to learning.
Applicants must be confident delivering both English and Maths tuition as a minimum subject requirement.
The Role
• Deliver personalised 1:1 English and Maths tuition
• Support learners working towards KS2, KS3, GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications
• Adapt learning to individual needs, abilities, and learning styles
• Build positive relationships that promote engagement, confidence, and trust
• Encourage re-engagement with learning and positive educational experiences
• Support academic progress, independence, and attainment
• Complete session reports and progress updates
• Work collaboratively with families, schools, Local Authorities, and other professionals
Learners May Present With
• SEND and EHCP-linked needs
• Autism (ASC)
• ADHD
• Dyslexia
• SEMH needs
• Anxiety and EBSA
• Permanent Exclusion
• Alternative Provision and EOTAS pathways
Requirements
✔ A minimum of 1 year's tutoring experience delivering English and Maths
✔ Experience supporting learners at KS2, KS3, GCSE and/or Functional Skills levels
✔ Experience supporting learners with SEND, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, EBSA, or EHCP-linked needs
✔ Strong communication and relationship-building skills
✔ Ability to work independently within community and home settings
✔ Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred) or willingness to obtain one
✔ Right to work in the UK
