Opportunity for either an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor with commercial or industrial experience to join a fit out & refurbishment contractor based in the Essex area.
The client is a principle contractor specialising in high quality refurbishment and fit out projects across the commercial, industrial, retail and residential sectors, serving projects throughout London and the South East.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor Roles & Responsibilities
Assist with preparing cost plans and budgets.
Help track project costs against budget.
Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Prepare tender enquiry packages.
Take off quantities from drawings.
Measure works on site.
Assist in preparing interim valuations.
Maintain project cost records.
Attend site meetings.Quantity Surveyor Roles & Responsibilities
Take ownership of project budgets and cost reporting.
Produce monthly CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations).
Lead tendering and subcontractor negotiations.
Manage supply chain relationships.
Price and submit variations to clients.
Negotiate variation values.
Administer JCT & NEC contracts
Attend client meetings
Assess subcontractor applications.AQS/QS Requirements
Educated to degree level
Knowledge of JCT & NEC contracts
Proficient in Microsoft software & measurement software
Basic understanding of taking off quantities from plans & producing bills of quantities (BoQs).
Experience working for a fit out contractor
Experience across the commercial or industrial sectorsBenefits
