Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Energy company in the UK to recruit an Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Technician to join its CCGT site in Rochester, Kent.

The EC&I Technician role comes with a starting salary of up to £50,000 + £2,100 SE allowance and very competitive benefit package including 20% bonus, medical insurance and 10% pension contributions.

Responsibilities and duties of the EC&I Technician role

Reporting to the EC&I Team Leader you will:

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities on electrical, control and instrumentation systems across the plant.
Support the safe and reliable operation of the station through effective fault finding, diagnostics, and maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
Prepare risk assessments, method statements, and maintenance documentation for EC&I activities.
Manage and supervise contractors undertaking maintenance and outage-related works.
Support the implementation of company safety rules as an Authorised Person or Competent Person, where appropriate.
Assist with the planning and delivery of plant outages, inspections, and major maintenance activities.
Develop technical specifications and support procurement activities for EC&I equipment and services.
Maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, contractors, and site personnel to ensure maintenance objectives are achieved.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Educated to HNC level or equivalent in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience maintaining EC&I systems within a CCGT power station or large-scale industrial process environment.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electrical, control, and instrumentation equipment.
Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation relevant to industrial maintenance activities.
Computer literate with experience using maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Controls & Instrumentation-biased engineer with experience maintaining and fault-finding on industrial plant systems.

Personal skills

The Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation role would suit someone who is:

Self-motivated with a proactive approach to maintenance and problem solving.
Well organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
A strong communicator who can work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and external stakeholders.
