Position Type: Full-time, Permanent (In-person)
Salary: Up to £40,000 + 10% Bonus
Working Hours: Mon–Thu 8:00am – 4:30pm, Fri 8:00am – 3:30pm

As a result, they are looking for a skilled and motivated CNC Turner Setter/Operator to spearhead this new internal department and take ownership of the day-to-day machining operations.
The Role of CNC Turner Setter Operator
As this is a newly created position working with newly acquired machinery, you will play a vital role in ensuring the precision manufacturing of components from day one. You will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC turning machines, translating technical drawings into high-quality finished products, and helping to establish efficient in-house manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities for CNC Turner Setter Operator
*
Set up, program, and operate CNC turning machines to produce high-precision components.
*
Use Fanuc controls and demonstrate strong competency with G-code and tool setting.
*
Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
*
Adjust machine parameters to optimize performance, tool life, and cycle times.
*
Conduct rigorous quality checks on finished parts using standard measuring equipment.
*
Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
*
Collaborate with the wider engineering team to continuously improve manufacturing workflows.
*
Ensure strict adherence to company health and safety protocols.
Candidate Requirements
*
Technical Expertise: Proven experience as a CNC Turner Setter/Operator with strong competency in Fanuc controls, G-code, and tool setting.
*
Engineering Literacy: High proficiency in reading technical drawings and using precision measuring tools.
*
Problem Solving: Strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and solid basic math skills for calculations.
*
Desirable Skills: Experience with grinding, milling, and tooling is highly advantageous. Familiarity with CAD software (such as SolidWorks) or previous supervisory experience is a major plus, as this department grows.
