Smile Education are recruiting for an experienced School Cleaner to support a school in Kidderminster (DY10). This is a temporary position with the potential for ongoing work for the right candidate.
The Role:
As a School Cleaner, your responsibilities will include maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment for students, staff and visitors. You will be responsible for ensuring designated areas of the school are cleaned to a high standard and comply with health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Clean classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets and communal areas to a high standard.
• Vacuum, sweep and mop floors as required.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Clean and sanitise touch points and high-traffic areas.
• Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels and toilet roll.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is stored safely and correctly.
• Report any maintenance issues or health and safety concerns.
• Follow school cleaning schedules and procedures.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and COSHH guidelines.
• Work independently and as part of the wider site team.
• Support the school in maintaining a welcoming and professional environment.
Requirements:
• Previous cleaning experience, preferably within a school, education or commercial setting.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and health and safety standards.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage workload effectively and prioritise tasks.
• Subject to Enhanced DBS Check / satisfactory references.
