An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a leading Building Services and M&E contractor delivering a range of high-profile projects across Scotland.
This role is ideally suited to a mechanically biased project professional looking to take ownership of project delivery while managing customer relationships, commercial performance, and project teams.
We're looking for a commercially aware and customer-focused individual who can ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
The Role
As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical projects from inception through to completion.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Managing mechanical and M&E projects from award through to completion
* Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to specification
* Leading and coordinating project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
* Managing project costs and reporting financial performance to senior management
* Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships
* Identifying opportunities for additional works and future business growth
* Preparing quotations and tenders for project variations and additional works
* Ensuring all installations comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards
* Supporting technical delivery through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
* Conducting staff appraisals and supporting employee development and succession planning
* Promoting a positive health, safety, and compliance culture across all projects
About You
The successful candidate will come from a strong mechanical background and possess proven project management experience within Building Services, M&E, or Mechanical Services environments.
Candidates should have experience within areas such as:
* Plumbing
* Heating
* Pipefitting
* Mechanical Building Services
* Commercial Mechanical Installations
Essential Requirements
✔ HNC or above in Building Services Engineering or equivalent
✔ Strong technical and project management experience within M&E or Mechanical Services
✔ Excellent commercial and financial awareness
✔ Proven experience delivering projects safely and profitably
✔ Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills
✔ Ability to lead, motivate, and develop project teams
✔ Excellent communication and organisational skills
✔ High levels of self-motivation and leadership capability
Desirable
✔ Chartered Engineer status
✔ Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
✔ Financial management experience
✔ Experience leading multiple projects and teams
