GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Colchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT looking to make a lasting impact within a thriving Design Technology department.
As a Design Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging creativity, innovation, and technical excellence. You will play a key role in developing students' confidence, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of design processes while maintaining high standards of achievement and behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Inspire students through engaging practical and theoretical learning experiences
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing effective feedback and support
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes creativity and achievement
Prepare students for examinations and coursework requirements
Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment in line with health and safety regulations
Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
Promote positive behaviour, high expectations, and a passion for Design Technology
Requirements:
Experience teaching Design Technology within a secondary school setting
Strong subject knowledge across Design Technology disciplines
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities
Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and educational excellence
ECTs are encouraged to apply
