Travis Talent Ltd are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Sheffield-based manufacturing business seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their quality team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused engineering professional looking to join a business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality products and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Role
Working as part of the quality function, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections on incoming materials, work-in-progress components and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
You will play a key role in identifying non-conformances, maintaining accurate inspection records and supporting the wider manufacturing team in delivering products to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect incoming materials, in-process components and finished products.
* Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
* Record inspection results accurately and maintain quality documentation.
* Identify and report non-conformances, supporting corrective action activities.
* Use a range of measuring and inspection equipment to verify product quality.
* Ensure gauges and inspection equipment remain within calibration requirements.
* Support continuous improvement activities aimed at enhancing product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
* Assist with the development and improvement of inspection procedures and work instructions.
* Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues.
The Person
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
* Previous experience within a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician or Quality Control role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
* The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Experience using precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.
* A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
* Experience using CMM equipment would be advantageous but is not essential.
