Production Scheduler / Production Planning
Location: Telford
Salary: £ Attractive basic full benefits package
Hours – 8:30 – 5:15pm Monday – Thursday, 8:00 – 12:30 or 8:30 – 1:00 pm Fridays

You will take ownership of the end-to-end production planning process, with the unique chance to build and develop the production plan from scratch and shape the Kanban system alongside a collaborative team.

As Production Planner, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating production schedules to ensure customer orders are delivered on time and in full.
You will work closely with Operations, Materials, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality, ensuring that labour, materials, and equipment are aligned to meet business demand efficiently.
This is a highly interactive, hands-on role, where you will monitor demand, manage constraints, and proactively resolve issues to minimise downtime and maximise output.
Key Responsibilities as Production Planner will include:
Creating, maintaining, and communicating daily and weekly production schedules
Reviewing material availability, identify shortages, and collaborateing with Purchasing on solutions
Owning and developing the Kanban system, including calculating and updating parameters
Building and improving production planning processes from the ground up
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure plans are realistic and achievable
Monitor WIP and work order progress, escalating risks where needed
Maintain high levels of accuracy within the ERP system
Act as the go-to contact for planning-related ERP queries
Support internal and external communication with teams, partners, and customers
Maintain visual management tools and planning boards
Drive continuous improvement and support operational performance targets
Promote a strong Health & Safety culture
To succeed in this interesting Planning / scheduling role you will:
Be a proactive and organised planner who thrives in a manufacturing environment, with a keen eye for detail and a problem-solving mindset.
You’ll bring:
2–3 years’ experience in production planning or scheduling
Experience in establishing or running a Kanban system
Good understanding of production workflows and planning processes
Experience using ERP systems
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to read engineering drawings
Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach
Confident IT skills
A positive, energetic, and proactive attitude
