Freelance Project Manager – Facade Remediation Project
Location: Hull, East Yorkshire
Contract: Freelance / Self-Employed
Duration: 18 Months – 2 Years
Rate: £350–£450 per day (DOE)
Start Date: End of June
An established principal contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major long-term facade remediation project in Hull.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a significant residential remediation scheme and take responsibility for the successful delivery of works from commencement through to completion. Due to the long-term nature of the project, applicants must be locally based or within a reasonable commuting distance and able to commit to the full project duration.
Key Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for the safe, timely, and successful delivery of the project
Management of site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and specialist facade contractors
Development, monitoring, and management of project programmes and key milestones
Stakeholder liaison with clients, residents, consultants, local authorities, and project partners
Chairing project meetings and providing regular progress updates to senior management
Management of project budgets, forecasts, procurement activities, and commercial performance
Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental, quality, and statutory requirements
Driving programme performance and mitigating project risks
Overseeing quality assurance processes and ensuring works are completed to specification
Ensuring compliance with current fire safety regulations, remediation requirements, and relevant Building Safety legislation
Managing project reporting, documentation, and contractual obligations
Supporting the successful handover and close-out of the project
Essential Requirements
Degree qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Surveying, or a related discipline
Proven experience managing facade remediation, recladding, external envelope, fire remediation, or major refurbishment projects
Strong understanding of passive fire protection, remediation works, and current Building Safety and Fire Safety legislation
Demonstrable experience managing project programmes, budgets, risks, and stakeholder relationships
Strong IT skills with experience using Field View, Viewpoint, Trimble, or similar construction management platforms
Ability to produce and manage project reports, programmes, quality records, and progress documentation
Valid and in-date:
SMSTS
CSCS Card (Management Level)
First Aid at Work
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Experience managing projects within occupied residential environments is highly desirable
Full UK driving licence preferred
Must be able to provide recent and relevant project references
