Are you an experienced Transport Supervisor, Transport Planner, or Logistics Team Leader looking for your next challenge? Do you have experience managing drivers, vehicle operations, and transport compliance within a fast-paced environment? If YES, we would love to hear from you!
My client, a well-established organisation, is seeking a Transport Supervisor to join their Bristol-based team. Working closely with the management team, you will play a key role in overseeing daily transport activities, supporting drivers, maintaining compliance standards, and ensuring operational efficiency across the fleet.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, health and safety requirements, and company policies, including tachograph management and vehicle defect reporting
Support the planning and optimisation of daily vehicle routes to maximise productivity and minimise downtime
Monitor driver performance, attendance, and productivity, providing coaching and support where required
Conduct investigations relating to vehicle incidents, accidents, and employee conduct issues
Liaise with drivers, operational teams, and customers to ensure service levels are maintained
Oversee vehicle, equipment, and site standards, ensuring operational readiness at all times
Maintain accurate transport documentation, reports, and compliance records
Assist with credit control processes and support wider business performance objectives
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costsPerson Specification
Previous experience within a Transport Supervisor, Logistics Supervisor, Fleet Supervisor, Transport Planner, or similar operational role is essential
Strong knowledge of transport legislation, fleet compliance, and driver management
Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across multiple departments
Experience managing and motivating teams within a fast-paced operational environment
High level of attention to detail and accuracy when completing reports and documentation
Good IT skills, including experience using transport management systems and Microsoft Office applications
A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solvingWorking hours for this role are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.00 am - 5.00 pm
