A supportive specialist school in Wokingham is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting pupils who face behavioural, emotional, and social challenges.
As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will work with pupils who may have SEMH needs, ADHD, ASD, trauma-related difficulties, and behavioural challenges. You will help students develop positive coping strategies, improve engagement in learning, and build confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing targeted support as a Behaviour Teaching Assistant on a 1:1 and small group basis
Supporting pupils with behaviour management and emotional regulation
Encouraging positive attitudes towards learning and personal development
Assisting teachers in implementing behaviour support plans
Building strong and positive relationships with pupils
Maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environmentThis Behaviour Teaching Assistant position is well suited to graduates interested in psychology, youth work, counselling, social work, or teaching. Previous experience working with children or vulnerable individuals would be advantageous but is not essential.
