Role – Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location – Mildenhall, Suffolk
Working hours – Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week
Capacity of role – Permanent position
Salary – Up to £50,000 per annum
Our client is a leading manufacturer in their field and currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support their production facility. This role is a pivotal role within a fast paced and progressive team.
We are seeking someone who is time served and looking to utilise their skills to further their personal development and career.
Main duties will include -
• Supporting the maintenance of production machinery and ancillary equipment
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs
• Stripping down machinery to replace worn or broken components
• Completing and updating maintenance tasks using a CMMS / maintenance software
• Supporting visiting service engineers
• Maintaining facilities across all sites
• Acting as the main point of contact for external contractors
• Identifying improvement opportunities and potential cost-saving initiatives
• Assisting other areas of the business with maintenance support as required
Candidate Attributes -
• 5–10 years’ experience in a mechanical maintenance role within a production or manufacturing environment
• Experience working with production machinery, ideally within a shift-based or 24/7 operation
• Strong mechanical aptitude, including strip-down and replacement of components such as bearings, conveyor belts, and other wear parts
• Experience using general workshop machinery and equipment
• Welding and fabrication skills
• A disciplined, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills, comfortable liaising with colleagues at all levels and external contractors
