About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mechanical QA Manager to join our team and take ownership of quality assurance across a range of mechanical building services projects, including residential developments. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring that all mechanical installations and associated documentation meet the highest standards of compliance, quality, and performance.

You will play a key role throughout the full project lifecycle, from installation through to commissioning and final handover, ensuring all works are delivered in line with specifications, regulations, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage all mechanical quality assurance activities across multiple projects, including residential schemes

* Oversee the preparation, coordination, and completion of all QA documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance

* Develop and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality checklists, and inspection records

* Ensure all project documentation is compiled and maintained, including:

* Commissioning records

* Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals

* As-built drawings and documentation

* Certification and handover packs

* Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to verify compliance with project specifications, particularly within residential environments

* Identify non-conformances, implement corrective actions, and track resolutions through to completion

* Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, consultants, and clients

* Monitor adherence to company quality management systems and procedures

* Support commissioning activities and ensure smooth and compliant project handover

* Ensure all documentation is submitted on time and meets contractual and regulatory requirements

Requirements

* Proven experience in a QA/QC role within mechanical building services, MEP, or construction environments

* Demonstrable experience working on residential projects (e.g. apartments, housing developments, or mixed-use schemes)

* Strong understanding of mechanical systems commonly used in residential buildings (e.g. HVAC, domestic water services, ventilation systems)

* Demonstrable experience managing QA documentation and project handover processes

* Familiarity with building regulations, British Standards, and relevant compliance frameworks

* Excellent organisational and administrative skills with a high level of attention to detail

* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively

Desirable

* Relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services

* Experience with digital QA systems or document management platforms

* Knowledge of commissioning processes and procedures

* Experience working on high-rise or large-scale residential developments
